For Christmas, my mother-in-law gave me a sewing machine. This gift couldn't compliment my New Year's Resolution any better. This year is the year of making. It doesn't matter what medium. I have a lot of ideas from sewing to learning how to knit, taking a five-week stained glass workshop to baking. I may be going in a lot of directions, but I'm excited. So excited that we are converting our front room into an art room. My goal is to complete one project a month. To help me stay on track, I will be posting my work here. Be patient with me while I find my writing voice and enjoy my creative journey.
My first project was an infinity scarf. I thought I would start with straight lines and ninety degree angles. I had high hopes of not messing that that up too badly. I found a great tutorial online and an adorable craft store in Minneapolis to buy material. If you're looking for fun fabrics and yarn, check out Digs. This is where I bought the pre-cut fat quarters used in this scarf.
After spending three hours of a Sunday afternoon behind my new sewing machine, and a lot of help from my kitty, I finished my first sewing project.
